Resource Management:
The production manager is tasked with calculating the human and material resources required for business to be carried out efficiently.
This includes drafting a timescale for each task and developing material list.
The production manager must estimate overhead costs and set the quality standards for each task, monitoring the production processes and adjusts schedules as needed.
Maintain Equipment:
The production manager is responsible for selecting and maintaining equipment needed for business, ensuring proper maintenance procedures are put in place and all employees are properly trained to handle the equipment.
Inter-Department Communication:
The production manager facilitates inter-department communication, acting as a liaison between collaborating departments to ensure efficient production.
Job Requirements:
A minimum of a bachelor's degree - a management education is preferred.
Prior experience managing production and operations of a major foodservice company, including the demonstrated ability to set and maintain quality standards, oversee a large team and guarantee all company financial targets are met.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
