89 an hour 9 days ago 9 days ago 9 days ago Job Description Under general supervision, the Downtown Services Parking Meter Attendant patrols controlled parking areas and issues parking citations for violations of the City Code of Ordinances; collects moneys from parking meters and TOT boxes; may assist in the repair and maintenance of parking meters and parking areas.
Keeps supervisor informed of areas needing attention.
Handles customer complaints and concerns regarding parking matters.
Exceptional courtesy, tact and diplomacy are required in daily contact with the public.
Job Responsibilities 1.
Patrols controlled parking areas and issues citations for violations of City Code of Ordinances.
2.
Collects moneys from parking meters and TOT boxes.
3.
Performs preventative maintenance of parking areas in the Central Business District.
4.
May assist with the repair and maintenance of parking meters.
5.
Covers parking meters to reserve parking spaces for construction contractors.
6.
Performs preventative maintenance on Departmental vehicles and equipment.
7.
Informs the public about parking rules and procedures.
8.
Reports unsafe conditions observed in the Downtown area.
9.
Reports children or pets left unattended in vehicles.
10.
Participates in City- or Departmental-sponsored special events and projects.
11.
Assists with the placement of holiday decorations in the Central Business District.
12.
Assists the public by providing information such as to local business establishments and points of interest.
13.
Performs other related work activities and projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Minimum Requirements - 1.
Job requires a valid high school diploma or GED equivalent.
2.
Previous work experience is desired but not required.
3.
Job requires a current, valid Texas Class C driver's license.
4.
Employee must learn and demonstrate basic knowledge of City parking ordinance to perform normal work assigned.
5.
Job requires the ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish.
6.
Employee must be able to deal with the public in a courteous and diplomatic manner.
Physical Requirements 1.
Job requires employee to stand and walk long periods of time outside and is subject to weather changes and inclement weather.
2.
Additional physical demands available upon request.
Additional Information 1.
This position is a safety sensitive position subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
2.
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
3.
Position requires working evenings, weekends, events, or during emergencies as needed.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster.
