Maintains complete and accurate records and files.
Coordinates insurance and financial aspects of patient care with the appropriate Gelman Vision business office staff and scheduling staff.
Schedules procedures.
Coordinates specific scheduling requests as needed.
Ascertains privileges of scheduling physicians.
Answers the phone.
Prepares patient charts with appropriate forms.
Collects fees when appropriate.
Demonstrates ability to operate and maintain copy machine, adding machine, postal meter and keyboard.
Assists in keeping waiting room neat.
Assists staff in keeping nourishments stocked.
Maintains stock of office supplies.
Maintain HIPAA at all times.
Collects all monies related to self-pay patients.
Monitors self-pay or patient responsibilities, including following up on broken agreements and locating patients for collection of past-due accounts.
Establishes and monitors written personal payment arrangements.
Answers patient inquiries regarding accounts.
Researches, identifies and rectifies any special circumstances resulting in delayed payments.
Communicates with patients regarding accounts that have aged over 30, 60 and 120 days.
Identifies and communicates with doctors regarding noncollectable accounts to be turned over to collections.
Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
