Administrative Specialist

The selectee will serve as an Administrative Specialist in the Office of Investigations, McAllen Resident Office. Typical work assignments include:
Assisting the Administrative Officer with recommending and initiating personnel actions; scheduling employee physical examinations; and paying bills for administrative expenses. Receiving and transmitting classified documents; processing and maintaining documents according to established regulations; conducting and arranging for training of new support staff; and providing recommendations for resolutions. Assisting agents in compiling and composing information related to protective visits; assisting in preparing preliminary surveys and itineraries; conducting preliminary searches and inputting data into computerized criminal databases to develop background information; and tracking and compiling criminal history statistics and reports. Preparing memoranda and official messages; serving as the Public Affairs Coordinator, ensuring timely submission of public affairs notifications (i.e. law enforcement officer deaths, appointments of new law enforcement officials, etc.) GS-9:
You qualify for the GS-9 level (starting salary $52,905) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 level performing duties such as:
coordinating administrative support functions by procuring office supplies and equipment; managing property, space, records and facilities maintenance; using office automation systems and databases to track files, retrieve and/or input data, and conduct preliminary searches; and providing administrative advice to management.Time-in-Grade:
Current Federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the Federal service.Qualifications Must Be Met:
